Saturday, April 10th, 2010Practice, Practice, Practice
Monday, March 9th, 2009I don’t think there is any discipline out there that doesn’t require practice. Studio photography definitely falls into that category. This past week I had the great opportunity to work with Lauren, Lauren, and Ashlynn in my studio. They were very patient as we tried different lighting patterns, backgrounds, etc. I learn something every time I work in the studio and this time was no exception. I’ve been working with my Canon 5d Mark II and didn’t realize that the flash sync speed was 1/200th instead of the 1/250th I’m used to from my other cameras. It didn’t take too long to figure this out once I started seeing a black bar down the side of the photo.
Nikki Hynek, http://www.nikkihynek.com/, came over and did makeup for all the models. Soon we will be offering a packaged deal for your glamour photography needs.
What a cute family
Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008So I’m a little biased because they are related to me
I recently did some family portraits for my Aunt, Uncle, 5 cousins, and their families. We setup a background with 2 strobes in my Uncle’s shop for a make shift studio. We had a lot of fun and it makes for quick and easy Christmas presents!
Holiday Party
Monday, December 8th, 2008I went to Kansas City on December 5th to shoot a corporate holiday party. We decided to do a “formal” type shot of all the couples and groups as they arrived at the party. It was speed shooting at it’s best. I shot over 150 couples in just over 2 hours. It really forced me to think on my feet as I had very limited time to work with each couple. These are some of my favorites from the formals. I’ll write another post in a day or two with pictures from the party.
The party was held at the beautiful Webster House which was a very unique setting.
